Hi Darren, I bought mine over recently , sight unseen, although as suggested, a 'holiday' would be a good move if you can. It depends how much you like a gamble, there are big risks involved but they can be mitigated... 1/ Make sure you properly understand the difference between the UK and US versio...

OK, so duty and registration are separate things/departments. On import you pay duty to HMRC and get a proof of payment (Nova certificate ?), then you have to supply that along with an MOT to DVLA etc to get a registration. Assuming no previous UK reg turns up, what's to stop you trying the advised ...
