Thanks for all the information guys, really appreciate it.
At the end of the day me or my son-in-law are not mechanics by a long way.
The car has been off road now for over 6 years, mainly due to life getting in the way, obviously the pandemic didn’t help. We originally brought the car with a 318 ...

Re: Fuel line replacement
Thanks for the replies.
After discussion we decided to opt out of going down the EFI route.
So my next question is about installing an electric fuel pump and regulator. What’s best
Also what style of phenolic spacer should we go with on a dual plane intake with a Holley 4160.

Re: Fuel line replacement
Hi Chaps,
Maybe in the future we may look at going down the route of installing EFI. So want to make sure that what we do is more than adequate to accommodate a fuel pump, etc.

Fuel line replacement
Morning All,
Firstly a Happy New Year to everyone and your families.
I’m looking at replacing the fuel line on our 72 Duster. Could someone point me in the right direction as to what to use, whether it be solid or flexible and what are your preferred choices.
Andy

Re: OIL COOLER LINES
Hi Derek,
I was referring to the replacing of the existing cooler lines from the tranny to radiator, as ours are all creased.

Re: Engine advice
So we've had a machine shop have a look at the complete engine, stripped down. They have come back with a figure of just over 2k for labour only for the machine work, that they say is needed.
*Regrind crank
*Re-bore and hone piston bores
*Clean block
*Pressure test cylinder heads
*Fit new valve ...

Engine advice
Pulled the engine yesterday and stripped down.
Was expecting this to be a minor overhaul but now think not.
From the pictures can anyone advise as to wether they think the crank is salvageable, at present the bearings are +10thou, can we go any further with grinding. Just asking for any advise ...

Re: Bad over heating problem
Thanks guys for all the advise.
Me and my son in law have had a long debate today.
We’ve now come to the decision once and for all to remove the entire engine and strip down, get the block and heads checked and any machine work done as necessary.
The car needs a complete re-wire and the engine bay ...

Re: Bad over heating problem
Thanks for the advice I will start looking to see if anything comes to light.
Any ideas as to why the power steering fluid went frothy and turned bright pink or could have just been the extreme heat within the engine bay
