Ouch! I guess that kicked off your education in autos! A pinched line is a good possibility- it went over pretty heavily from what i gather. He's cheched the shift linkage, that still goes thru full travel, didn't think of the kickdown but that's a cable on this box so unlikely... I expected it to b...

Non Mopar trans- URGENT HELP!!!

I've foolishly loaned my precious D100 to a mate who promptly drove it into a ditch! In his efforts to get it out he's killed the trans somehow :x It's a Rover engine/box out of a P6 Circa 1978. It was professionally rebuilt 1 year/ 1000miles ago and has been faultless since and has been kept topped...

Ow my brain hurts now! Dunno if i can give you enough info to help at this stage Dave but i've chickened out of the double pumper Pete had on the 360 and took the vac-sec carb he had on his Chally (still 750cfm) as i expect it'll perform well enough for street use and be less scary on fuel. Firstly,...

A lesson i learned: dont overtighten sump bolts!!!! This distorts the pan an it'll never seal again unless carefully hammered flat again :x If unused for a while the cork gasket will dry out an just stark leaking for no apparent reason, prompting the uninitiated to tweak the bolts a coupla turns. Th...

Statin the obvious but make sure you get contact with metal not paint!! Also that the straps long enough and flexible enough to allow for engine movement ( many fine braids = good). Also remember to take it off before lifting motor out

I'd have thought they would mesh pretty smoothly unless knackered and then as you say it'd show up as a bad wear pattern- in my experience a notchy feeling is more likely to be bearings. Might be dirt in the grease or flats worn into 'em....i'd pull the shafts again and turn the bearings by hand, yo...

I've had lots of powdercoating done over the years an i have nowt but praise for it. 1st thing i had done was a motorbike frame about 18 years ago- its done 25000m in all weathers since and still aint rusted anywhere ( even the front downtubes which get quite a battering!) Recently had a Lancia engi...
