Re: Matt's '68 Coronet 500
Been doing a bit more on the car . So having remembered that I'd 'borrowed' the power-to-manual steering column adaptor from the Coronet to use on the 'Cuda, I had a bit more work to do. Martin at RPM found me a pot coupler with the larger 'manual' spline in it , so just needed to get the correct le...

Re: Matt's '68 Coronet 500
Got a bit more done this weekend. Re- plumbed the fuel system using ally tube up to the repositioned regulator . Will support the tube well to eliminate possible flexing and cracking. IMG_1820.jpg Made some battery cables, Crimped *and* soldered IMG_1817.jpg IMG_1818.jpg IMG_1815.jpg Replaced the fu...

Re: Swapping engine mounts
Remove long bolt holding mount to front subframe/K member. Loosen the one on the other side. Flat piece of wood under one side of the sump (or , with care, vertically up onto the sump rail) jack it up an inch or so (remove fan shroud first) You can then undo and wiggle the mount out. Might have to r...

Re: Matt's 1970 'Trans-Am' Cuda
Sadly the Thruxton date will not be going ahead, as not enough entries were received. It wasn't far off happening though. There's a plan to try and organise another race in the Spring, possibly at Donington. That's a shame. Will you be racing anywhere else this year? Swinging sixties maybe? My frie...

Wiper motor looking a bit sorry for itself
Corrosion removed, parts variously clear-laquered and painted. Not exactly 'correct' , but it's an improvement.
Reassembled, with wiring/sleeving replaced or tidied up

Re: Matt's 1970 'Trans-Am' Cuda
There's a provisional date on hold for a first TransAm GB race meeting - Thruxton 25th October. Fourteen V8 cars of the make/model raced in original TransAm 66-74 - (which includes Fastback Barracudas and '66 Darts) will need to book and pay before 27th June for the date to be confirmed. If anyone w...

Either that , or someone's welded the spider gears up ...
or fitted a spool
or done a one-wheel burnout and seized the spiders to the shaft.

Re: Suppliers/Vendors of Body Panels
Whilst AMD are the go-to for quality panels (and I think they can all be ordered through Summit), Goodmark panels may be available through RockAuto . I bought several Goodmark panels from Rockauto for the 'Cuda, including rear trunk drop downs, and the torsion bar crossmember. THe quality and fit of...
