440 Six Pack Holley parts in the UK
Hi,
Would you mind letting me know of any UK suppliers of the Holley Six Pack rebuild parts. If not, favourite US supplier.
Many thanks
Eddie

440 Engine build for friend
Hi,
Have a friend who wants a head and cam swapped into his 67 (possibly 68) big Chrysler with a 440. Good news is that book compression should be 10-1 on earlier engines.
He has the parts:
Edelbrock Performer RPM Heads 60929
Comp Cams Extreme Energy Cam (CL21-225-4) Duration at 050 240/246, Lift ...

Re: 440 Replacement Starter Motor issue
Thanks again guys and good that I can rebuild the broken starter. Great advice Dave.
I now have 2 mini starters and the old original starter. Shame I timed out and couldn't get it to fit.
Regards
Eddie

Re: 440 Replacement Starter Motor issue
Turned into a drama.
Broke the post off inside the solenoid trying to remove the post extender. Starter now U/S
New starter shipped from Rock Auto. Friend had a spare old type starter so fitted that one.
Timed out on making the mini starter fit but have the new one as a spare now.
Thanks

Re: 440 Replacement Starter Motor issue
Removed the bolt on wire extender. The small nut galled on the thread as I undid it. Tried to hold the shaft while I unscrewed it but whole shaft came out. Looks like it was soldered inside the solenoid. Tapped it back in and tried the motor. Solenoid now dead. Replacement ordered from Rock Auto (no ...

Re: 440 Replacement Starter Motor issue
Thanks for the inspiration Dave and Blue.
I'll give it another go later tonight or tomorrow without the bolt on wire extender and see how it fits.
All the best
Eddie.

Re: 440 Replacement Starter Motor issue
Update,
New starter Pinion is 10 tooth.
Tested on the bench- solenoid pushing it out so good there
Removed the engine plate to trial fit. Could not get the lower fixing hole over the stud.
Unscrewed the stud
No interference with the smaller lower hole
Fixed with the top bolt
Lower stud not aligned ...

Re: 440 Replacement Starter Motor issue
Hi Dave,
Just checked the replies tonight. You star!
Ton of stuff to work through. Really do appreciate this.
I am committed to use the car for a wedding in August and this was really worrying me.
I'll hopefully get time on it this weekend and let you know progress.
