I used to be an in-through-the top sort of guy , but I'm completely converted to Thunderbird 2 style now. If I didn't have the luxury of a 2-post lift , the jury might still be out .....

Matt's 69 Coronet Restoration Progress !

It's still getting there , but unfortunately I don't think I'll be ready for the Nats , what with going away this Thursday evening for three days & all. Looks like it's 'Next year' AGAIN ! Still , I'm pretty confident it will be next year this time . The engine last week: And last night - ready ...

Hi Will - I've just done the same job on my Coronet & have some left over . There are two styles of clips for the upper moulding across the top of the screen - the shallower ones go one at each end , as I recall. I should be able to take some pics for you & count the clips Monday night . Che...

The ammeter is one of several electrical weak spots on B-bodies (& other mopars of the era) . The threaded studs to which the wires attach are a press fit into the ammeter itself. This was an unwise arrangement even when new , - 30 years later it's just asking for trouble. The fix for this is to...

Get another hammer (nice big one), & mate (nice big one) , & hit both sides of the knuckle simultaneously for a minute or three. THis tends to 'squeeze' the balljoint stud out. Or get a bigger pickle fork & hit it really hard with a bigger hammer. They usually come off like this. Or like...

It's possible to do it with the screen in - my 69 RR was replaced like that with no trouble. . Good contact adhesive , & hook it over those barbs.

Hi Dave , thanks for the info - I was thinking maybe it was a 7.25 myself, then I thought - 'station wagon with V8 - maybe a bit small ??' . I don't think it's a 7.25 , as there are no bearing retainers visible on the brake backplates, and no access hole in the halfshaft flange. The backplates are b...

Axle ID & service info needed

Hi all, I need to replace the LH rear wheel bearing on my 70 Coronet wagon (318ci) . I've looked at the axle , but I've only got a '69 workshop manual, and it doesn't seem to feature this type . The axle is the Dana style with the rear removable cover , & I think it's probably an 8.25 . I need t...
