Hoarding stuff like that is an illness IMO, just what is the point? I also look at stuff like that and think just get rid of all the crap make some room and get something done...

Sometimes I think when it’s at this stage the collector derives pleasure from owning it rather than doing anything with it.

I think it's gone beyond any kind of pleasure and turned into a compulsion by that stage, I know someone who I suspect is doing the same thing.

Yes I guess so.

I have several sets of wheels and tyres some for cars I no longer own and some for which I am yet to own. But I still browse through all the for sale wheels every week.

I agree.
I hate to see any classic sitting rotting away. Let alone multiple. And I bet , as usual , the guy had plenty of offers to buy them from enthusiasts wanting to save them , but would refuse point blank !!!!

I’d say it’s a personality trait. Some sort of control thing ???? But I’m no psychiatrist!!!!

That person was not right in collecting all these, and looking at the status of the cars none would run now.

That is criminal as there are a lot of us would have these cars and run them but this guy just get them and put them away, making a shortage of these cars which results in prices going out of our reach.

Shouldn't be allowed.

Love to know how much the auction bring in.

I'm not sure how true that is given the recent "how many miles do you do" thread?
I think a lot of us are guilty of having nicely waxed garage ornaments. I don't think I've done more than 70 miles in ours since the end of last November?

70 miles more than mine has done.

mine has been of the floor since October, will get back to earth (as they say) soon, winter is a no no for me, no reason to take her out after show season is finished.

I think the weather has played a major part behind us not doing anything with the car in all honesty. We had a brief week where the sun was out and the salt had been washed away so it came out for two days but otherwise it's been locked in it's cave.
