Harpenden 'Classics On The Common' pics

Post by RobTwin »

Some pics from last Weds at the annual HUGE gathering on Harpenden Common (between St Albans & Luton, if anyone was wondering ;) )

Unlike the Nats, the weather forecasters got it wrong for this one, with rain forecast for most of the afternoon/evening, but thankfully it stayed dry & bright :thumbright:

Usual eclectic mix, plus a fair few bikes that I didn't get round to snapping

It is the best car show by miles. Getting in though - that was dreadful this year. 45 mins in the traffic - Charger made it in, but once I turned the engine off she boiled over and dumped out the overflow...

I have a picture on my phone of the most bizarre bike I'd ever seem - old peugeot with a 10cyl radial engine - truly awesome. I'll try get it posted.

Yes, we were there with kids from lunchtime! Usual great show. Nice to chat with Matt and Mandie, saw your car Morgan but not you :(
Yes I saw that guy start the radial motorcycle as well. Fantastic bit of kit. 100cc I believe he said. As you can imagine it spins up pretty quickly!
Good weather too...

Excellent pics Rob. We found it was VERY busy, gone are the days of picnic behind your car. Still some superb stuff there.
I thought the white Volvo was great.
