Silverstone Classic 26th-28th July - Final Instructions

Post by MattH »

This event doesn't clash with the Mopar Euronats in 2019 for the first time. \:D/ \:D/
It's meant to be a fantastic weekend of classic racing, like Le Mans Classic but daytime and no ferry or French speaking involved!
There is also live music Friday and Saturday nights and camping available (not in the club infield area).

We have registered and been accepted as a club which means discounted tickets for MMA members. You can now access the Car Club Display Package. You would need to attend in your Mopar, and register it when booking.
Take some time to look round the website for the event, there is a fair bit of information. www.silverstoneclassic.com
It's not a cheap day out but is a full on weekend with loads to see and do.

Each package includes 2 x adult tickets & 1 infield display pass for your club display area, race paddock access, seating for all open grandstands, live music, and the majority of all funfair rides.

This means cars booked in as club members get to be part of the infield display parking area rather than just in the public car park and work out nearly half the normal price. Club cars will need to be on site between 1000 and 1700 each day they are booked in. You can book for 1,2 or 3 days.
There is the potential for a parade lap, but nothing guaranteed yet. I've advised about the 50th anniversary of the 69 Charger as a possibility for parade lap potential.
Normal prices for the full weekend are £99 per adult so this is a great deal as part of the club package.

EARLY BIRD: 3 DAY WEEKEND - CCD PACKAGE £102.00 (£102.00)

EARLY BIRD: 2 DAY FRI&SAT - CCD PACKAGE £92.00 (£92.00)

EARLY BIRD: SATURDAY - CCD PACKAGE £75.00 (£75.00)

Hi Matt
Got mine , Christmas present for Tracey , so will be there Sat. and Sunday in the Chevy.
I went a couple of years ago as a vip guest from one of my suppliers and it was great , shame we both had hang overs from the night before at the Nats, so at least this will be good as it has always clashed .Guess you will be camping too ?
Yours
Guy AND Tracey :)

This si supposed to be a fantastic event

I tried to enter the touring car race for this in 2011
Read the rules:
built before the cut off date: yes
genuine touring car with history :yes
original type engine : yes
original type gearbox : yes
original type suspension : yes
period correct : yes

So sent my entry form off and had it returned to me and told i wasnt allowed to race and they changed the rules.

They had allowed the larger cc capacity cars thinking of the early DTM cars not the auz touring cars

It didnt help that I just recently beaten the vodaphone primera supertourer which they expected to be one of the front runners in this race

True story, the gits !

Does that mean you're not going then Andy?
I saw the Dick Johnson Sierra Cosworth at the NEC yesterday, what a stunning machine, oozes history.

I've booked the Challenger in for Sunday. Prices will go up after tomorrow night but you can still book after that, just at a higher price, still discounted over normal public entry price though
