Love that GTX in all it's 70's glory, saw it at Olympia when I was about 11 or 12 =P~

I saw it (the GTX) at a Hot Rod & Custom UK meet at Thruxton I think, where I took those pics. I remember the headers set fire to the grass it parked on!!

I had the Custom Cars pics of it on my bedroom wall as a yoof....

Come to think of it I might have had a pic of John Mills car there as well.

Me and Tm Fernell say it in west London in the late 1970s in was in a yard behind a petrol station pushed up against a chain link fence covered dirt looked a sorry sight. I think Tim was interested in buying the Hemi in it.

Just to resurrect this thread...Lord of the Rings lived in Simpsons Garage in North Wembley...other side of the bridge from the Hopbine Rockin Pub

First time i saw it i couldnt believe it i was about 12 and it had a tubbed rear too if i remember...mad frosty green colour...just looked awesome ...and the Noise when they started her up
That was desision made had to have a car similar that when i could 8-) 8-)

Then one day i went to seeit and it was gone ...gutted never saw it again so where did it go ?? :( :(

Crikey Steve, I didn't even know it was there!

Simpson's had some top stuff in there from time to time though and I seem to remember that they were out of my price range even then...
The pump don’t work coz the vandals took the handles.

Somewhere in the loft I still got that copy of CustomCar with some moist thing draped over it ;)
The pics of the engine bay and chassis show some remarkable paint, plating and detail :thumbright:

Yes Ivor at somepoint in time while the Lord was there they had 2 Hemi cars in there....
just remember that as i didnt know what a HEMI was really age 12

Only knew it as the Mental Engines as were in the Top fuel/ Funny cars I saw at that age 8-) 8-)
