Mopar_Mark - 71 Cuda

Post by mopar_mark »

Hi all,
Haven't posted in a while as been too busy working in Russia. Just come back for the week end, so thought I would start a thread on my car. Also good opportunity to put some of my photos in one area, and chance to let people know what I'm up too !

I thought I'd gradually add some more information on my Car over a period of time.
So heres a little mouthwaterer to start with, more to follow....

Well Here some of the spec's. Motor is built for Road use

1) KB Block - 4.500" Bore - 572ci
2) Callies Crank 4.5" Stroke With BBC Rod Journals
3) Oliver Rods - 7.100" (These are beautifull, released @ PRI in Orlando)
4) Custom Pistons
5) Stage V Millenium Heads, 2.400"Inlet / 11/32" guides with Modified Stage V Rockers (Picture of similar Heads)
6) Custom Grind Roller Cam & Roller Lifters
7) Blower Shop 14-71 Blower on top of Indy Manifold
8) CG Composites 3 Blade Injection Hat. (This may change, most likely have to go to 3 Hole/Square Blade (Aluminium Seal) for beter idle qualities. But have got both to try on a sale or return basis (See Picture)
9) BigStuff3 EFI system - New one for me, so another new learning curve

Cheers, Mark...

I will post some more photos of the car in the next couple of weeks. I have only got some old photos on my PC & did not bring Digi Camera back with me.

I will also post more photos of the motor at the same time. I'm flyin out to see the motor dynoed on/around 27th March. So I will post some video on my return.

I've waited along time to get this engine, and god knows how many months working in weird & strange countries (just thought I'd stick that in before people accuse me of bein loaded or something silly.

In fact it is my work that has pushed me into puttin the Cuda back on the road as I never had time to race it. For the last 3 years I've averaged between 7-8 months a year away from home. So hopefully now when I come home and its a nice day I can fire the old girl up & go and play.

I've still got quite a bit of work to do, but aiming to debut at the Mopar Nats. Not sure if funds will stretch to a paint job by then, if not it will be good old Stealth Black

Cheers, Mark...

Just a little update to let you know that I'm going to see my new motor on the Dyno next week.
Little apprehensive as Fuel injection was slightly delayed but what the hell I'm in USA so no going back, so fingers crossed.
I have bought along Digi Camera & Video so will post photos & Video clips (Well try to post video :D )

Well, made 2 pulls on the Dyno today, got some Video & photos just unable to download at present.
Will be raising fuel pump pressure to help out the injectors, will also need to sort out the idle on the Carbon fibre / Butterfly seal when I get home, but think I can deal with that. Also gonna play with the fuel injection on the lower range.
1st pull was more to get heat in the block also decided to switch blower pulley, now at 1:1 Ratio.
Hp 981 @ 5,100Rpm, Torque 1034ft/lb's@ 4500rpm ( Dyno brake could not handle the torques so not sure what final figure would be 8-)
Will upload photos / Video next week most likely
