Newbie - please excuse the car.
Not sure if this is the right place for this:
Thought I'd better start with a quick Hello & a bit about who I am/what I drive /why I'm here etc.
My name is Phil (obviously) & I am Rich (from RichDeb)'s brother.
I own a 1969 Oldsmobile 442 convertible (only a couple of photos on the work's PC at the moment - see below).
I have been visiting this site for quite a while as a guest & found it the most entertaining American car forum site.
When I found the following statement on the connected website "We are not restricted to a thin slice of American cars though, anyone with enthusiasm is welcome to join regardless of their choice of car - within the club are owners of Australian Chryslers, '50s Mopars with Fins, American cars from other manufacturers and even new Chrysler vehicles.", I thought OK - they wont all object to a GM owner joining.
So here I am ready to be shot at/welcomed/laughed at/comiserated with/congratulated etc.
I've been to the Nats 5 or 6 times over the last 20 years or so & am hoping to be there again this year (maybe for all 3 days for the first time).
I did consider a few Mopars when looking for a yank (15 years ago) & came close to buying a couple (1968 Charger 440 in metallic red/white interior & 1969 Dodge Super bee (383?) in Metallic Bronze which was at last year's Nats), but knew I wanted the Olds first time I saw it come out from under a dust sheet in a barn in deepest rural Essex!!
That'll do for now - more as & if required!!.
Cheers,
Phil
