You will have to go to a DVLC licensing centre and apply to have it put back on to it's year of manufacture. They may well want to inspect it. You will deffo need documentation evidence to support the YOM to. Not sure if there is now a fee for this ( £50 ) :? After this you should get your new "age related" plate issued to you together with a nice 12 months FREE road tax....... ;)

I do letters for proof of manufacture, usually from the VIN number. Had 100% success so far i think, and I am approved by DVLA for this. Letters cost £5 payable to MMA.
Got some cars off Q plates etc in the past for members.
E-mail me the details.

I had luck with mine.First reg 04/01/79 In brackets after Decl/d manuf 1970.
So I just went and taxed it for six months,3 weeks later I get a refund,a new exempt disc and new historic V5C.
At the top of the original V5,under the keepers name it says
Imported vehicle-was registered/used overseas. Declared manufactured 1970.
Nothing like this on your Docs?

No,I will when I sort out an age related plate. It's good fun to have T reg on an exempt car, especially when DVLA rules say the reg must not make the vehicle look younger than it is. They did it,not me.
