Got a court summons for "failure to notify of motor vehicle change of keeper" , now i sold this van in December 08 & i can't remmember if i sent off the change of keeper or gave the complete log book to the new owner , DVLA know this vehicle had a change of keeper so why the summons? , is this another legalised robbery scam?
Got this through the post this morning (£60 minimum fine) , why are they persuing this 6 months down the line? , & i thought the sorning of a vehicle is out of order now this.
Ok , why do we have to keep putting up with this Bananarama! , just about had enough , seems a bunch of think tanks empolyed by the government sit down all day discussing how to rip us off.
sorry but your gunna have to pay it unless you have the notice of disposal letter they send you after you have told them its gone & its no good saying its been lost in the post, cause ive already tried that one
So what's the difference if the owner or new owner notify them of the change? , bottom line is the new owner taxed the vehicle the day after i sold it , so they new within a week the vehicle had been sold.
We just had this at work, elderly resident died,no v5 found, sorn came through, letter sent to dvla explaining situation. Next thing we get a letter saying that the owner has a fine to pay coz he didn't notify them. They've had a very rude letter back. Tossers the whole lot,as bad as the NHS lazy bunch all of them.

It's just a pee take all the time.
tell them that you signed and sent off the front part off the v5 brutus there word against yours mate, stick at it,
i had the same thing when i sold my escort years back, got a letter telling me they wanted £75 as i hadn't informed them off a new keeper, i kept writing and calling them to tell them i had sent it off even the bloke i sold it too wrote to tell them as he was there when i posted it on and on it went until they said it would go to court, my lawer said they would win and i would also have to pay costs so i paid it but i was mad as hell, they definetly knew it had changed hands because i cashed in the tax disc for 3 complete months and the bloke who bought it got a years tax for it, bloody jobsworths the lot of them

Just got a letter through for a sorn on a car that hasn't been at this house in two years ... I'm not going to reply 'cause then they'll have my name associated with it!
And don't get me started on the NHS *looks at 15 year waiting list letter*
