Yep, East Anglia has ground to a halt cos of 5 inches of snow

Muppets driving at 5mph cos there was a light sprinkling on the road.

I am sure a car will be in the ditch outside my house tonight - some twat nearly slid sideways up my driveway whilst trying to negotiate the bend.
I would not normally mind, but I was reversing on the drive at the time

I have extended my stay in surrey by 24 hours because of the road problems. I got the M25 cameras up on a pc and saw trucks and cars stuck near J9 so decided to travel to Banstead tomorrow instead. Then go anti-clockwise up through Dartford on Monday to head north. Looks like freezing fog in the east that day as I make my way up.

hey Dave I'm right near banstead. why not avoid the m25 and go straight through town to the m1. i drove around my area most of yesterday and the main roads are all prity good so i that light going through town from banstead to the m1 should take about 1hr and 20mins and at least you cant get trapped on a motorway.
pm me if you want directions as i drive in the city most days

I was thinking M11 then A1. I will look into the other options later today. I bought a new tomtom with live traffic updates. Let's see how that works out....

We always do M11 and then A1 when going "Oop Narth"; we are quite practiced at it now.

Julie has cried off visiting the relatives due to the unpredictability of the weather coupled with the inability of other people to drive in poor conditions.

I know the Durango is a crap, cheap, and un-stylish car, but its bloody great in this weather (4.7 litre 4 x 4), we just picked a 6 foot long wardrobe up in it as well from the wilds of Suffolk, no issues :thumbright:
