I have noticed that a lot of you guys with UK registered Mopars have got a US license plate format with a UK registration, is this road legal, or just for shows..... just askin

Bit of both xbrit I'd say, with some american cars it's difficult to fit a UK style plate, this was our argument when it was brought up by the powers to be a few years back, I've only ever heard of a couple of friends being pulled up over the plates in the last twenty years, on both occasions the digits were too small, not the size of the actual plate. :thumbright:

If you have a reg with just six digits the digits can be a correct and legal size but unfortunatly the font is not quite thick enough to be legal. Seven digit numbers are a bit "squashed" on a US style plate.

The legal alternative (if a standard plate will not physically fit) is to use the same font as a motorcycle.

But if the US style plates are the correct colours for the registered age and don't have silly slogans added too, then you would be very unlucky indeed to get pulled for it.
