I assume you have the Spindle connected to the UCA as well as the LCA.

Adjustment on the UCA using the cams is the only way on a stock set up that you can adjust Caster.......nothing to do with the LCA as long as it is in the correct position.

Yeah, the spindle is connected to the UCA, I didn't disconnect the UCA, just removed the LCA, so it should all just go back as it was

Without the strut rod everything seems to fit and line up, with the strut rod in place the pivot shaft pin won't go all the way home.
Am I overthinking it and really just need to put everything together and tighten it all up?
Will the strut rod pull the LCA forward as its torqued up?
Do the metal sleeves that fit over the end of the strut rod and inside the bushes need to be used ?
Anybody got any pictures of the front end set up without a drum or disc being in the way, so I can see what it should look like?
I should have pictures - i tend to take them at every stage when i am doing something. I will have a look when i get in front of a pc.

These are the best I have that show assembly pre-brakes.
If these are any good, tell me which and I'll post them.
If they are not, circle the bit you are interested in and I'll see what I have. :thumbright:

Thanks Morgan,
Looks like the 8th pic, the one ending in the numbers 813 is the clearest one. I'm now thinking that even though I haven't disturbed the UCA at all, that might be the problem.
I only needed to change the bushes in the LCA so left the UCA in place thinking it would be ok. Because I've removed everything else though, as I'm putting it back together, the strut rod seems to be too long and preventing the ball joint end of the LCA from sitting far enough forward, giving me negative castor.

813... Note these pictures are 'pre-setup' (i.e. I had not had my alignment done. They are in the ballpark, but not perfect).
