Here's all the info, Jon

The future of York Raceway.

Since the beginning of the year, the land owner has been made a better offer from a major international parts manufacturer to use the main runway for testing. This means laying a 9m wide road down the centre of the rally school, York Raceway pits, York Raceway start line, through the dragstrip and breaking area at a cost to the land owner.

As part of the agreement between the parts manufacturer and the land owner, everything has to be cleared from the main runway. That includes the barriers, banking, control tower, cabins, toilets and drag racing.

Negotiations have been underway by Pennine Raceway Ltd (the management company of York Raceway) to keep drag racing on the main runway of Melbourne Airfield, (the home for York raceway for 40 years) for at least another 10 years.

For York Raceway, or drag racing on the airfield, to continue we must invest money into the facility, starting with re-laying a new drag racing surface separate to the surface laid by the land owner on the behalf of the parts manufacturer.

This allows us an excellent opportunity to lay a brand new track which is overdue, at a cost of £100,000. We have listened to you and decided to double our fund raising to £200,000 to redevelop the site in other key areas such as new buildings and toilets, which will be agreed between the promotors, the PDRC and any new board directors.

As it has been reported, PDRC and Pennine Raceway Ltd have donated £10,000 each and we have already received another £10,000 from individuals. So we are well on the way to a new updated drag racing facility in the UK.

Ways you can donate:

Donations under £500 - Though our crowd funding site, https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding ... =MNJPg3kp6 if the target is not reached all monies will be donated to charities associated with drag racing/motorsport, due to the way that crowd funding sites work.

Donations from RWYB/PDRC racers/Spectators between £500 and £1,000 – to be paid to PDRC’s new fundraising bank account, email pdrc@btinternet.com for more details. If the target is not reached, all monies will be refunded.

Independent race classes who may have monies to invest between £500 and £1000 – to be paid to PDRC’s new fundraising bank account, email pdrc@btinternet.com for more details. If the target is not reached, all monies will be refunded.

Sponsorship/ VAT-registered businesses between £500 and £10,000 to be Invoiced by Pennine Raceway Ltd – for a full sponsorship proposal, email info@yorkraceway.org.uk. If the target is not reached, all monies will be refunded.

Investors and partnerships over £50,000 are to contact Steve directly on 01422 843651
