Power assist steering.
Can anyone tell me the company who sells power assist steering package for the 60s / 70s Mopars that has the updated style of power steering rather than the original over assist that seem to give you little or no feedback from the road?
I have seen a place some time ago but cant place where I saw them!

do you have a Saginaw pump
you might get away with little or no investment other than time
You can screw out the outlet barb and under it is a little valve with a spring and some shims on it if you thicken the shim you reduce the Pressure and thus increase effort from floaty light to "ok" or to oooh my shoulders.
if you go too far you will feel notchiness

The Greater Knapweed near the Mugwort by the Buckthorn tree is dying
if you buy a borgeson box get it from a mopar place that does kits
otherwise you will have to source metric to US power steering hoses and you won't get a pot/slider link for column to the box.
so you'd need to get it from these geezers who provide the lot

if you buy it from borgeson you will end up having to either hack off the end of you column inner or weld/bolt in a UJ making it a none reversible change

Have a look on Moparts, I'm sure there was a thread about the Borgeson box, it was less than complimentary from what I recall. Personally I wouldn't deviate from factory style steering components, I've yet to hear of good feedback from any of the conversions I've read about. Unisteer rack conversions are problematic as well.

if you have manual steering re build the box with a 20:1 or 16:1 ratio
its not hard at all did a write up somewhere
would suggest 16:1 is too much its manageable in my car but I only have 3/4 of an engine.....
20:1 and some + castor and you'll have plenty of feel
combine that with C body track rods and ends
a urethane or bearing based idler bush and jobs an goodun.
here is a RHD 20:1 for reasonable
you just need to turn the nut round on the worm for LHD

I just read a lot and made some expensive mistakes
if I see something that should work, looks interesting and passes a basic "the science in that seems to make sense" or I try something and all the bits fly out and off under the workbench i'll happily chunter on about it for hours on end.....

I would rather keep the manual steering , the caster seems OK but I would like some more but that's at the cost of more struggle I guess.
Its has not got aftermarket upper control A arms so It could use the Moog offset bushes I guess but I think I would rather go for the aftermarket kit to dial in more caster which I understand you can (if I reduced the struggle steering as well!)

The Moog offset bushes don't give you much, if your car has much of a rake you'll still struggle to get much caster. Adjustable upper arms are the only way to go if you want to dial in a reasonable amount. I'll be trying a fixed set that's supposed to have 4 degrees more than stock built in on the Barracuda, I have about zero caster right now, we'll see how that pans out.
