New to the Club
Hello Everyone
I have just bought a 1990 Dodge Dakota Sport, 3.9ltr 4 speed manual with overdrive, 4WD with LPG
It was last MOT’d in 2003 and has covered 16 miles since then so basically not moved for 10+ years
It starts with good oil pressure, tries to move, but with tyres that will not inflate and the probability of seized brakes it does not have much of a chance, however the brake pedal is firm
All of the rest is a total unknown and will need a complete overhaul of everything
This is my first venture into the Mopar world, but not my first challenge
1965 Mustang 200 owned for 5 years
1978 Mustang 302 owned for 11 years
1979 Chevy G30 351 Coachmen Motorhome owned for 12 years
Looking forward to reading all of the posts on here

Re: New to the Club
Nice project
not too dented and no obvious holes from its 10 year holiday
fluids and filters
tyres
if the handbrake has been on the rears will be very very stuck
back off adjusters and see if the spring tension will peel the shoes off the drums

Welcome aboard.
Always good to see something a bit different.
I’d recommend a build thread in the workshop section as you go.

Re: New to the Club
Thank you both
I am not expecting this to be a quick fix, none of my other projects have been, so why should this be any different
Tyres are obviously first, next changing fluids including antifreeze, no water in the radiator, which might be a blessing or a curse, room for the water to expand in the frost, but if it has been drained that could be a problem, my 1978 Mustang had been left drained for a similar amount of time and both heads corroded, that was mixed blessing, the heads I installed had bigger valves
Getting underneath will be the next challenge.........

Nice one, good luck, always liked those early trucks.

Re: New to the Club
Thank you all for your warm welcome
I will do as several of you have suggested and create a thread for progress
It will have to wait until it gets a little warmer, I will be working on this outside, whenever I have managed to get it into storage that is, at the moment it isn't going anywhere

Re: New to the Club
As others have said this will make a great build thread in The Workshop.
