Just want to say a big thankyou to John S, Pete, Miles, Mick and Chris(Birdman) for all your help, knowledge and time spent on my car on Sunday. It runs so much better and was a pleasure to drive home. It now launches from a standing start and doesn't bog down but still gettin fuel starvation (I think) when you boot it at 60/70mph so going to bin the Edelbrock and get a 750 Holley and take it from there. Beer will be on the menu next time I see you.
Oh and thanks Ali for introducing me to the guys.
Ian.

Sorry I was not camping with the MMA but as I got there early Friday and was told the Mopar corner was taken by others, then I camped somewhere.
That's ok Ali we didn't want you with us anyway.

good one Mick

That's no ordinary carb, it's a show carb, so Jem had it on show!
Philth wasn't having any of it. Next showing will be the Nostalgia Nats.

I can't believe he chucked the club chimenea away on Sunday morning. It had only 2 burns.
I shall miss it.
Oh and Miles... Still not twins! Brothers yes, but not twins.
(Unless Rob and Stu turned up on Sunday and you're on about them.)

Great weekend all! Excellent meeting all youz again! New Shakey Mopar corner - "Mopar Gateway" leading to Mopar Paddock". I think we all agreed it was much better! The old Mopar corner was reserved for Outlaws who never turned up (so Jim and his crew ended up in it - therefore it is still Mopar Corner!!).
Stu and Gareth - cheers for the bbq stuff and food Jem and I swagged from ya
Pete - jalapeƱos with apple crumble???? Top work fella!
Mick needs Dave Robsons stars and stripes jacket to match his shoes (could be visa-versa).
Now, about that excellent stacked headlamp Fury....

A good Vac Sec 750 would be a good place to start in some respects.
You have a good inlet there and a fair cam but there is every chance that is a low compression motor (it definitely has a cast crank) - maybe a compression test would give you some pointers there.
As I mentioned at the time, the killer is a tight Convertor that will not allow you to tune the motor effectively, not whilst it is dragging the revs down so much at idle......IF you had a lose convertor a nice 750 DP would wake the motor up with that single plane manifold.........I would sort the convertor out as a priority over the rear end............

Ah cheers
Youve already got an 8 3/4 with what looks like a suregrip Ian so why the rear end work?
Like Pete says, def a converter first, once done you will see why with a much better all round driving experiance honestly
