We have just done them on the Works Truck - be VERY sure you REALLY want to do it before you start.
Do you have access to an adjustable Reamer, if not then step away from the Truck....

I did the kingpins on my old D100, as kingpin jobs go it was pretty straightforward. Getting the old one out is usually the worst bit, heat may be needed and you have to be careful hitting it as you can mushroom the end. Try doing a set on a Mercedes coach if you want hard.....

Thanks for the opposing advice boys!
I'll give it some serious thinking about first Pete. I know a cracking old skool engineer and a couple of very resourceful hot rodders so I have the right sort of help available. If Blue says I can do it, he's generally right

barium nut-case grease made by mopar. its very very sticky and very very very greasy indeed and makes you skin go red and sore
Nice! i like a consumable that does me damage shortly after opening the tube. just like iodine on a cut...you know it works, as you blink back the tears and stop swearing

Nice Dave
I've found the cause of a persistent leak on the carb- the cover was badly distorted from over tightening.
Some careful twonking with a hammer and a home-made gasket fixed it
Sorry about the upside-down pic as usual ...

I've had a persistent leak from the back of the trans for months and it's been driving me nuts. I've replaced the rear seal 3 times and it keeps coming back!
Well I looked under Dusty earlier and noticed that the yoke where it slots into the trans was bone dry, rusty even, but the fluid was dripping from the uj! I just pulled the prop and found a teeny hole in the middle. Is this supposed to be there? I'm guessing it's to relieve pressure as the shaft slides in and out, so why is mine leaking fluid? Like a pint every couple of weeks! Will I do damage if I bung the hole up?

Well the leak has stopped! How bizarre.
Today I took the doghouse off to knock off a few jobs. Very glad the engine is indoors, it was bloody freezing!
I took the distortion out of the carb top with wet n dry on a granite slab. New rocker gaskets, new rad top hose, new ht leads. Tomorrow I'll patch where the sound deadening has been melted by the exhaust, and see if I can get at the heater matrix which I think is clogged up as it does bugger all!

Fitting new shiny stuff is always good
A familiar job with the carb!
I got my heater hooked up and working for the first time a month back. The weak spot is the on/off valve, it that is free then you are onto a winner.

The valve is stuck, but stuck open luckily! I've bunged in a bottle of central heating flush. I'll if that helps!
It's starting better with the new plug leads

I've had nothing to post here for a while as Dusty has just been getting on with the task of being my utterly dependable, no-fuss, adorable daily driver. Just back from a Centreparks 'holiday' (5 days 6 girls 30 degree heat... )
I bought this disc conversion last year but with the Belve fire, etc, I've had no chance to install it.
Well, as soon as the rain stops, it's happening! I'll replace the kingpins too while the front end is apart, a mate has offered to help- he's done a few so he knows what he's doing.

It's happening...
Spent most of today stripping off the drums, hubs and trying to shift the kingpins. One wasn't too bad but the left one is proper seized. I've had to take off the axle and have it set up in my press ready to get serious on it's ass.
