We use super unleaded and our comp ratio is only 10.2:1. What comp ratio is yours Morgan?

Well. The things I learn. This morning so far we have -

Learned that the engine is in fact 452ci.
Learned that the compression ratio is 10.85 (eek!)
Learned that the 'rough idle' is because the cam is a Isky292 - "Rough idle" "2800-7000" range !

I told you the power built up in the top end !
Perhaps down the line a *slightly* calmer one would suit.

Hahaha - this is really funny. I suppose I did ask for a more powerful 440. This is that...

Sounds perfect, super unleaded it is then. At a rough guess that combo is likely to be putting out around 450- 500hp and a similar amount of torque. A decent carb set up will go a long way to sorting it out and a torque convertor with a bit more stall speed would probably help. With the right gearing that should be a solid 12 second car...

2400 stall so slightly low.
I went for ‘warm 440’ type spec...

Silly water drip from rear—but-one header bolt.
Wont nip up - stays loose.
Will have to remove, clean head thread and investigate. New posh 1” bolts too...

I might pop a stud in there instead...

You should silicon all header bolts on Standard Iron heads to prevent leaks.

Harpenden this Weds Morgan - you usually use it to test your cooling system...

Stud now in. Silicon. Nice new nut going on this morn. It was irritating drip/sizzle.

Rob. Gonna let you down pal. Got tickets but gonna bail on Harpenden. Too crazy and I dont trust it to get in. Last year we sailed in, but you know how it gets... Need to get the idling manners sorted first and that aint gonna happen before weds.
Also, got 'Carfest' on thurs, so a longggg drive ahead of me (which I think she'll be fine for) so spending the time prepping for that.
