Well, that's answered the hole in the boot lid question!
Looking like some good progress is being made there.

After all of this, a few of my mates (and Tim the welding man) have said they think it should wear some new shiny rims like the Torque Thrusts in the first pictures on this 'ere thread.
There's also news about the paint. That burgundy mess is proving hard to scrape off without hurting all of the original Green underneath. As a result it might end up just looking DeathProof as-is. Bonnet will be blown over in matt black.
I still fancy putting black steelies on it with red bands, or would anyone else like to chuck suggestions into the Mopar hat? I don't plan to paint it, but i do plan to renew the whole interior.

Looking great Jonny. Storming through the workload. I'd get someone to airbrush your bullet holes back on where they were or I'd have just left them(!)
I saw a documentary about shine runners that had them rig their cars to drop the goods on the road if they were being chased and sometimes that meant popping the trunk mid run. An open trunk whilst being shot at would explain your "inside to outside" through and through bullet holes. A poor man's James Bond bullet shield.
Or it could have just been owned by a redneck who locked himself in the trunk and needed airholes(!)
Either way it's coming along nicely, good job. How's your internal organs?

I think nice polished Torq Thrust rims on that car would look great

The bullet holes were badly welded up a few years ago (not by me!) but you can see the entry wound on the inside clearly. I have a friend with a rifle so we could put some more in it...
I have thought about 17s or bigger but I want chubby profile rubber so that:s out the window. Plus, it's too modern for me.
I don't really want fully polished Torque Thrusts. I'd have to be rough cast centres if at all methinks.
Mmmmm.
Wound ok thanks Rich. Doc has signed me off most of Jan thou, which isn't brilliant for earnings....
HAPPY CHRISTMAS!

Happy new year Mope folks. After finding out the less than good news that my motor had no oil pressure, the engine's now been pulled out and partially stripped.
The good(ish) news is that we found the problem - bent pushrod and follower. Chucked replacements on there, span up with drill and full pressure. Hurrah

Whilst there we saw the core plugs were kippered and the water pump pretty noisy. Crank looks good. Cam a bit hurt from follower incident so Ricky is sticking a new one in along with new gaskets, follower set, pushrod set, bearings, water pump and probably HT leads with an electronic ignition. Ricky's going to powder coat a few brackets and things too, to make it look 'right'. Talking of which, can anyone direct me to some good piccies of a proper factory looking 383 4 barrel engine?
Photos on their way of engine rebuild thus far.
PS: Do LUMENITION do a good electronic ignition module for Mopar dizzies?

You look like you are making good progress on the car and the motor. It's amazing with these old cars the more you touch the more work you find to do. Keep the photos coming

Forget Luminition, had a whole bunch of trouble with that 25 odd years ago, get yourself a Mopar performance electronic distributor package, or an FBO set up from Neil.[/list]
