Not much to show for a day & a half of upping & downing, inning & outing  , but finally got the engine in & bolted up to the mounts & trans

Typically, the rain came just as we were getting the hoist hooked up (pun intended) - many thanks to Dave Long(shot) for the loan of the hoist, again :salute:

I dont recall seeing Muscle Car Restorations using quite as much bubble wrap & old sheets/blankets but we figured to err on the side of caution :)

and 6hrs later, after the unveiling...

Still got some bits & bobs to paint from when we got the engine back from Paul (bolt heads, brackets etc), plus we've now got a few other orange bits to touch up

BTW, if youre reading this Del, we got some more paint from US Automotive, for those extra brackets (throttle linkage etc); VHT in 'Chrysler Orange'. Havent used it yet, but going by the colour of the cap, it's a bit duller than the Mopar 'Street Hemi Orange' that Paul got from the States.
I suspect the VHT paint is more like the older 'Race Hemi' orange we've got on the max wedge. Maybe this is what you had, if yours was too dull?

I'll get some comparison pics when i can, to see if the above theory is right :read2:

Looking good boys, will be interesting to see what the colour difference is, any luck with the bottom pulley.

Thanks Del, yes, just heard from Paul that he has the bottom pulley at his workshop. Do you want to collect it yerself? We're unlikely to be seeing Paul for another week or two.

Could bring it to the swap meet but I expect you'll want it sooner than that.

Do you still have Paul's phone no & address?

Thanks Steve.
Yes, it came here from Belgium. Not sure if that's where it was 1st exported to tho :?

Why, does that make it a marginally more interesting 318 b-bod?

Excellent work, fellas! Shows you can never have enough protection when lowering an engine into place - looks like you're putting it to bed!

If it's VHT sp120 it will be the dull one. What is the code on the one that Paul got for you. Is it like Rover Vermillion red. If I'm going to redo mine that's what I've been told I need.

Hi Del, I've asked Stu to get a pic of the two cans. I think Paul got the paint sent over from the States with some engine parts, presumably a Mopar Perf part, so there's prob no mention of 'Rover' on the can!

I know what you mean tho, I think I've seen Rover Vermillion mentioned before too. We'll prob end up getting some more of the 'proper' stuff if we can, hopefully from Hausers? :?

Yes Dave, get them pics on here 8-)
The Racer types on here must be getting twitchy with all these resto projects, and hardly any 'Race' projects going on :-$ ;)

Del, here's the paints we've got:

On the left - 'Chrysler Orange' from US Automotive. Havent used it yet but going by the cap, it looks more like the 'Race Hemi Orange' on our 426MW

On the right - 'Street Hemi Orange' probably from Koffel's inthe States (where Paul Knight gets his Mopar Performance & most other parts). This is the remains of what he sprayed the engine with.
The part # is P4349216AB.

I just tried searching the MP site to see if that's one of their numbers but they've changed the site and I now I cant find nowt
