I was gonna do this to my Charger! I posted a thread on it before but as usual I never got further than shot blasting the Fenders. I even have the same colour of Yellow paint at home for it!

Well done, look's like a cracking job! How many hour's have you spent on it so far?

How many hours, Andy? I really don't know but my mate who is currently lodging at my place refers to me as'the monk of the yellow'! The more time you spend, the better it is. I decided to 'finish' it so I could make all the shows this year. After that, i'll return to it and make a more polished (groan  )effort over the winter. Funnily, the paint prefers dry and cold, any moisture and it goes matt.
If you roll it on carefully, it comes up brilliant gloss, albeit with orange peel effect. still, what can you get for a £100 these days for your car?

It looks an acceptable job and as you say the more you do the better it gets :thumbright: I just wouldn't try it with black or any dark shade.

MilesnMiles wrote:Cheers chaps, hey Mike, just before the website altered the configuration, your pics cam out ful size, quality stuff. Shame the resizing has dulled the colour a touch!
Just click on the pictures Miles & they come out full size, in fact click on them again & the picture expands again slightly ;)

An article on this was in Hot Rod mag, billed as "The $98 paintjob" - I guess we do pay double for everything!

Anyway they used white Rust-Oleum on a F*rd and got a neat result too - the Dart looks great in the pics too! Didn't realise it came in all fancy colours! What else can you get?

Yep, they got it from Moparts too! It's the most linked and contributed to thread ever there, loads of non-Mopar people joined up to post. But it was the resourceful Mopar guys who kicked it off!! :thumbright: (well one in particular...)

Anyway - great job mad machs, good on you for trying it and looks like the results are well worth it :thumbright: :thumbright:

good stuff - I brush painted and flatted out one of my motors years ago cause there was no way I had the money to get a proper respray and I was thinking of doing the Dart like this soon. The flash gits might turn their noses up but if I spent £5k on a proper respray in its original colour and some scumbag runs a key down the side or a bus runs into it then I've just wasted a lot of money better spent on beer :D

It can always be stripped off again and painted later when I want to join the Lord Montagu set ;)

When it comes down to it, what would you rather do? Drive a Mopar that wouldn't win a concours competition, or store one that would in a Carcoon?

Nice job :)
