Sad to hear this. He might have been a bit grumpy on the TV show, but there's no doubt that he was a visionary in the Hot Rod world.

I have an autographed pic of one of his cars by my desk, courtesy of a work colleague who is married to Charlie's niece. You may recall that during the series, Charlie left Boyd to open up his own shop back in Idaho, where they both originated from.

Lots of silly rumours on the net about how Boyd died, but I know he was diabetic, which may have contributed to the liver failure.

Charlie left to go painting for Foose, you can see him in overhaulin, Mike too, the gadgey with the plates fitted in his face, also the fabricater with the goaty beard n wears that girly smock thing in the shop

The cause of death wasn’t disclosed. However, Edmunds.com revealed that Coddington had been hospitalized since January after a fall at his home.
