Nope, not at the moment Pete...be back at the folks middle of July, I'll be able to get an idea then got a similar philosophy to Will's, it don't need to be pretty just drivable

Drive it and Injoy it. Then later you can do a rolling restoration of making it look pretty while not taking off the road to long.



4/6 years restoration are not uncommon at the home and it's a battle

Yea my sentiments exactly, (I have had one since 99,and still aint done yet)I have driven many mechanical correct cars ,that looked like hell, but in side they worked like a fine tuned clock.

I totally believe in a "rolling" resto if possible to keep from taking the car down , off the road , and then the excitement goes away and it never get done.


Kudos Scottydave , keep it rolling ,and enjoy the car as you resto it

Drew is spot on, do enough to get it on the road, some bits can be done later to pretty it up. Dismantle too far and a quick resto ends up 20 years.

End of July will see if an MOT is possible for next spring/summer. My brother has a well equipped garage, so if he can get her welded over the winter there's a good chance

Yep unless it's really Bananarama!, do the bare minimum to get it back on the road so you can use it during the summer. Do the rest in bite sized chunks over the winter so you're back on the road for the following season. Too many cars get stripped down and sit for years, and often never get done. There's a few here could tell you all about long term projects.
I can think of a 'Cuda that's been ongoing since about '87 and I think Gavin's Challenger must be about 15 years in by now....

Another parcel today, this from Rockauto
Upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends, tie rod adjusting sleeves and 4 shockers. Got another couple of parcels yet to come, hopefully they'll arrive within the next couple of weeks before I head north

Excellent - it must be like Christmas arriving early.

Final parcel before I head North has arrived, Poly Bushes for control arms, sway bar and torsion bar xmbr

Awesome - Ive just done all my suspension and its made a hell of a difference. Im finding myself throwing the car into bends and its taking them really well.

I love it when the couriers arrive with new bits - As Pete said its like christmas coming early ( just hide them from the Mrs )
