Thanks for all the feedback and welcomes, everyone.
morgan wrote:Cool write up. But then again, cool car... You wait. You wont have driven anything that commands public respect like the charger - it can be alarming.

Welcome from an utterly-unbiased 68 owner 8-)
Haha! I sincerely look forward to finding out. I can't wait to drive it :)

Just gone through a similar process myself

Lots of evening visits to Ebay USA coming your way :)

Your web page was a great read - imo you got that car very cheap !!
Your build looks amazing! Definitely going to have to keep an eye on that.

It was a tricky one to put a figure on, but at the end of the day I was happy with the price. Not in it to profit, anyway - just loved the car!

Welcome Lewis, and congrats on seeing the light and purchasing one of the most desirable of Mopar's, you cant go wrong mate and it will be a great investment. Also a very professional write up, I enjoyed reading.

Thanks Carl, appreciated. Really looking forward to getting it on the road.

I'm a little bit behind with my updates as I've been off for a while, so there's a bit of a backlog - but here's the latest: http://goo.gl/UelDHr

As an aside, which carb would most recommend for a 440? This is a '72 motor, I think, but it's got a decent intake and a set of headers on it. At the moment it's got a 650CFM Holley, which runs just fine, but I suspect it might be a bit of a chokepoint. Any suggestions?

I've done a fair bit of research and most seem to swing for an 850 but I think that might be a touch much for this; a 750 seems more sensible. I'd probably go for one with vacuum secondaries, seeing as this is a fairly hefty automatic. Any input welcome. :)

Ive just fitted a Holley 750 vac 2nd with Edelbrock performer inlet under the advice of Dave Billadeau. Ive replaced the valley gasket as well as Im pretty sure there was a leak as the car stunk of fuel. Ive also replaced the throttle return spring as well.

I would take advice from all the experts on here and then make your mind up. Ive gone with advice from Dave B as hes a Mopar guru but tbh everyone on here is very helpful and full of knowledge - more so i would say than some of the Americans that run these cars.

Glad that you have found the Board and its great membership useful.

At least a lot of the knowledge on here is based on practical experience rather than just web searches.

Thanks Pete and Raminduction! Yea, would happily recommend joining the club to anyone else - it's a great organisation.

Very true, the point about practical experience!

Put a lot of elbow grease into the Charger in the latest update. Really pleased with the results, though.

Quick warm start video here:

I'm a bit further ahead with the car than I am in my updates but it won't make it to the Euronationals this coming weekend, unfortunately - still needs a spot of welding. Getting there, though!

Perfection, a 68 Charger, a garage big enough for it to be comfortable to work on it and what looks like the perfect surroundings as well. Looking forward to the ongoing updates.
You could also do with an age related registration instead of one that shows the year it was imported, just add it to your to do list, lol
