Ridiculous isn't it,

If anyone remembers the Fiat Stilo, when parking, if you just happen to push the foot brake at the exact same time as applying the hand brake, it causes a fuse to blow, which in turn locks all the brakes on.

1997 Ford Mondeo ignition keys ( might also apply to others ) if you put the key in the ignition and nothing happens when you turn it, before blaming the it on the immobiliser. Take the key out, turn it by 180 degrees and try again. It'll start, apparently it's possible for one side of the key to wear more than the other which causes problems with the transponder

GM 4 pin HEI module and a DLB198 coil from a jag/rover

do a better job than Mopar electronic and for less.

clutch slave cylinder off a mid 90s bmw is a "pusher" can be bolted to angle iron bracket at the clutch ball mount on the bellhousing and has enough travel to operate the mopar clutch fork if paired with a decent clutch master

range rover in tank electronic fuel pump can be had for £20-£25

can be extended to match most tank depths.
fits through a hole you cut in the top of the tank
has in and out connectors....

Posher Mopars had zinc plates between the leaves in the leaf springs. that act as a self lubricating separator.

flat zinc plate in 0.7mm can be had off ebay for £10-15

interleave kit from mopar performance is $100 + P&P

cut lengths as wide as your springs

drill hole exactly 1 plastic spring slider length in from 1 end

face long bit forward

job done.

AMC flat tappet lifters the same bore as mopar, they oil through the pushrods but have a lower pushrod seat height.. which works if your pushrods are too long...

BOP engineering 3 inch rear main seal is a 1 piece item that can be cut down to fit a 2.5 inch seal housing giving a crank rear main seal with only 1 gap in it.

How to re programme MSD Rev limiter pills using few pence resistor from Maplins

LHD and RHD manual steering boxes are the same in every respect apart from case and the orientation of the steering ballnut

turn it round to match your sector shaft/car.

Think I missed the point last time :)

here is one

if your kids snap off their phone headphone jack
ipod phone I pad tablet etc by dropping the thing onto its headphone plug

usually leaving the jack in the socket with nothing to grip, the internet suggests you drill it out....

madness!!!

get a McDonalds straw, cut a 2 inch section

slice it down one side end to end

roll it to the size of the jack plug

ram it down the hole around the jack

pull it out fast and the jack plug comes out with it.

Simples

similar method can be used for getting

leather accelerator pump plungers back in the bore (bit of lemonade bottle)
plastic plungers in grease guns back into the gun or similar for your foot pump (as above)
