Hi Dom, I was very impressed. Considering shes a 383 HiPo and is a pretty big car, she got there on just shy of £100 in fuel. I'm guessing I was getting about 14mpg. Didnt go above 75mph at any point and most of it was around 60 to 65mph just to stay out of the trucks.

Definitely not. I looked at the nightmare that is a one way trip to Birmingham from my house and it was as follows....
4 mile walk to nearest bus stop
20 mile local bus ride to Newton Stewart
55 mile bus trip to Dumfries
Train from Dumfries to Carlisle
Train from Carlisle to Birmingham New Street
Train from New St to Bournville Railway Station
1 mile walk to my storage.....
Thankfully, I jumped in with my pal who was going home from a holiday, job done!

Looks a long way from Brum in every sense of the phrase Steve. You in splendid isolation up there? Looks a very tranquil location.

Hi Miles! Hope you are all well in sunny Cornwall
It's amazing here, extremely quiet, tranquil and beautiful. Nothing against the Midlands really other than it being extremely busy now. I never really considered it 'home' if you know what I mean. Always had a hankering to return to where I was born and feel at home.
Life in Birmingham served me well, kids grown up, career done and dusted etc so it's just the right time to do it before I'm too old to appreciate it. If I was to tell you there are more people in Birmingham than the whole of rural Scotland then you probably get the idea of what it's like here. Not for everyone but my idea of paradise, rain and all

Not quite from the house Ali but very close! Yeah, a bit different my flat in Brum! Settled in now Pete, just need to work on my beard now!

Was a great trip up Pete, proper dream material for the last 100 miles to my place. The old Polara ran like a true champ and was just a pleasure to drive. Considering she hasn't moved during the lockdown I couldn't have asked for more

Hi Ade, great to hear from you and yeah, been ages. I do smile when I look at all the pics I took. My long suffering other half was in charge of documenting the trip. Think she took a few hundred pics! Hope all well with you and the family
