Temu for the chequer carpet!

The red Dodge racing team coat is genuine 1970s flammable nylon.

I keep seeing Temu on my phone but have convinced myself its a scam  :D The stand looked very professional with 2 really great cars.

I wonder why our stand size has reduced so much? I know when I helped organise it was a 'battle' to get a plot that the larger cars could fit onto without there being a pillar in an awkward place etc.

If you are at all into car shows and meeting like minded enthusiasts, this is a great show to be involved in. I have many fantastic memories, a lot of which revolved around drinking coffee with Pete and all things linked to Wills (Autofetish) outrageous Charger :thumbright: :thumbright:

We've learnt over the last 2 or 3 years (Scotty Dave might be able to confirm) that stand size is directly related to how many show tickets are sold using the club discount code. Which I suppose is as fair a way as any :-k
I think those ticket sales in the previous couple of years (using our code) had been down a bit on years prior to that, but this year they were up a fair bit, so I'm hoping that will help us get a bigger stand for next year [-o<

Where is Will ? Has he blown himself up yet ? I seem to have lost the story with the Jade-Warrior thing ?

Sorry Rob, meant to reply earlier

That would make sense re the number of tickets although Im guessing if a club with 4 members sold no tickets but all had Vintage Bugattis, they wouldnt have a problem getting the space. Just playing Devils advocate really.

The American section of the show is a big draw in my opinion as they are a bit different and exotic compared to much of the rest of the show. Dave does such a good job of organising our stand and the cars always look very special, you would think the organisers would want as big a selection as possible. Four was nice when we didnt have to fight for space but all concerned have done a really fantastic job of displaying two of the nicest cars you will see. Im sure they got the attention they deserved.

I often wonder what Will is doing these days. A smashing fella. I lost my phone just after I moved about 5 years ago and all my numbers (I now have a hand written list in the drawer as I cant fathom out backing up the numbers  ). His Charger was a thing to behold when it fired up in the hall. I remember literally seeing people running from the other halls to see it when we were setting up or breaking down the stand. I always felt a bit sad on the Sunday evening when everyone from the club was going but only because we had had such a good time. Very good days indeed with very good people :thumbright: :thumbright:

Hi,
Yes after a couple of years of reduced stand size we managed to get a larger one last year, just in time for Tommy's Superbird :)
This year was the smallest we've had but so was everyone's stands and I think that was down to the very large and sparsley populated military vehicle display.
Out ticket sales over the last few years have been poor and that seems to have an impact on stand size although it has never been directly said.
This year we did extremely well on the sales front so I hope that will bode well for us.We also had a lot of interest from members for displaying in the future.
May be worth asking for a larger spot and see what happens.
Would be nice to give the Mustang club some competition

My pal Rich said the military stuff took a lot of space up and a lot of the American stands were smaller as a result. He sent me this great pic too. :thumbright:

And there was a lot of empty space between the military vehicles.

Stand did look good, something we can build on I hope.
