Help with 73 Dart for sale

What am I missing, surely the only difference is the nose and the V8.
Sorry for my ignorance.
I imagine the axle and gearbox will be more up to the task with the V8 but those details aren't on the ads.

The later cars had to conform to EPA and safety requirements, so they are big, heavy, ill-thought out to respond to rapidly introduced legislation, and as a consequence many people think they lost their earlier charm and sleek design.

As with most things, it is personal choice and taste. Your call.

As alluded to by Pete, the later cars, 72 on all suffered with smog rules, heavy bumpers for 5mph protection and other safety stuff as well as less power, so the pre 72 cars are generally more sought after and more "muscle car" era. I own a 73 Challenger and know the second class citizen feeling, which has changed a bit over the years, but it is still "not a 70".

Ah right I understand a bit more.
I thought the 70 a body was the same as the 73 a body other than cosmetics, I know a six isn't the thing people want, me neither really but I would be more concerned with the look and condition of the structure and body, I thought a V8 at a later date would be possible.
That's what these forums are for eh!
I'll have a look at some and see what I think.
I've been in contact with Andy Holmes from Sheffield, I'm going over there on Saturday to look at his car.

There is plenty around to look at, the green car mrm has is very good, you may have to travel for the right car, they are not on every street corner like Mustangs!
You will find the looking part enjoyable in its own right, before the driving bit happens.

Looked at the 65 Coronet 500 this morning, decided I didn't want a convertible.

It’s way overpriced, nice as it might be. 15k is pushing it in Todays market to be honest, nobody wants a 6 and of the few people that want a Dart, they want ‘67-72. It may not bother you but its unlikely you’ll get it cheap enough to not lose your shirt on if you decide to sell, especially as a dealer has it. I’m pretty sure that very same car was for sale locally at 25k a couple of years ago, oh how we laughed, last I heard the guy was trying to raffle it…

Apparently the owner is minted, so doesn't need the money, I might go and see it anyway just for my education/experience.
If it's mint as he says I can always make an offer.
The 6 doesn't bother me, I'm not going racing.....

Its a buyers market right now, and what cars “should” be worth and what buyers are prepared to pay are two different things. Prices at the cheaper end of the market are still going up in the States from what I can see, they’ve been dropping here for some time now and I don’t see any reason for that to change soon.

I've come to my senses....I'm not looking at the green 73, the image shows part of the frame rail that looks a bit dodgy to me.
The owner was adamant he won't let it go for less than 20k and the dealer wanted £1950 up front before they would transport the car from the owners house to the business as a security that I would turn up.
Apart from that it's not a V8.......

I'll get more info on mr m's 70.

Patience is required.

You won't go wrong looking at John's 70 Dart . ( mr m ) I've seen it a few times and it's a beauty.
