When i first joined the MMA his greeting to me was :P :P :P

Interested to see some numbers (cam, compression etc) for the engine your building.
I still have those exhaust headers you gave me and still havn't converted them to rhd yet! infact apart from collecting a few parts I have got nowhere since I saw you last - You seem to be flying ahead!

I have loads of old 360 bits if you want anything.

I hope to build this engine before next years Nats so I have a very good start. I ordered these parts from Mancini Racing at the beginning of June this year but the pistons were on back order so I had to wait 8 weeks for the pistons. I think I have all the main Bits I need for the build. I think the only bit that I don't have is a 318 sump( which I want to modify for more oil and add some baffles) and a early water pump(outlet on drivers side). There is no rush for these parts as they are the last things I need.

Cheers Jon that will be great.
The one that cam with the 318 engine i brought had the pick-up at the back and would foul my steering link bar, so i still need to see the one on my at the moment to see where the pick up is . I think it is a centre pick-up.

Good luck with the build Anton :thumbright: , nice to see some time & $$$s going into the little ole 318s :D , what CR you headed for?

I made a console for the charger too , PITA as the trans tunnel is offset around 3" from the centre of car , i ended up with a wide console , the main reason i fitted the console was to hide all the wireing & fit all the switches , i agree , the charger is like a hoover , drop something off the seats & a pita to find. :D

Well done. :thumbright:

Hoping for around 10.1 compression.
I made my console shorter so the offset of the trans tunnel wouldn't effect it and it is in the center of the car.
I've seen your console and that is where I got the idea to do mine, but I wanted mine for storage and not wiring.

Interesting engine combination, i've looked at that article before. I note that that cam brings in peak torque at quite high revs. Not sure how that will match with 3.23 rear. Not being critical, but i've just moved up to more cam
and 3.55 gears. It reallly comes on strong at 4000rpm plus which is 80+mph.Just a thought, as you will be running 'more' cam in that with a B body that i use in my A bod.
That said, I never cease to be suprised at how some quite different, if not contradictory choices still perform well in the real world.
Best of luck with the project

Looking good, always nice to see a car owner actually doing things themselves rather than getting a man in 8-)

Keep the spirit custom/hot rod alive :thumbright:

Here are the bits I got from the States a couple of weeks ago for my diff.

There is a new sure grip(I have open diff at the moment) and bearings, 3.23 ring and pinion from Dave Robson, crush sleeve eliminator and shim pack, new pinion seal and bearings, pinion bearing shims and new ring gear bolts.
Bacca man will be putting it all together for me soon and then plenty of elevens to came(can't wait).

we will see what times I run at next years Nats with the new engine, diff and wheels and tyres.
At present I have run a 15.9sec so hopefully a bit better than that.

Seems to me that if you get a negative comment, the old "RED MIST" comes up and you get all "BITCHY"............................................................. anyway, whats wrong with paying someone else to do the work properly, that`s if you can afford it

Don`t Knock it if you can`t afford it!!!!!!!!! ;) ;) ;)
