Clivey wrote:Sorry to hear about the hiccup. What are your options? Will you have to get the quarter resprayed?
I have no idea what my options are Clivey. I could be up a dirty creek without any means of propelling myself. But it would probably come to that. I doubt you could blend any paint in just that area?

I think it could be blown in quitley Dave. It's not metallic paint, if it we're it wqould be much harder to match. If you have some spare paint left over from the respray it should be a perfect match

Fantastic job Dave!
Don't worry about that bit of melted paint Dave that really is an easy blend job, especially as it's close to a trim edge, as Jeff said one of the smart repair guys could do that in about an hour and you'd never know.
In fact Dave, with your drive and determination, you could do it yourself, if you need to know how, I'll send you one of my how to do it videos on a CD, give me a shout if you want to have a go!

Well Hemi orange is actually a metallic John. People often don't realise that. But it is not the type that gets darker the thicker it gets so yeah it might blend OK.
Ivor. That is a cool offer. But wouldn't I need an air brush?
For sure I would need some paint. I don't have any of that either. Matty "lost" the left over paint he was going to give me.

Thanks Jeff. But I think I will wait until after the car is back on the road. Just in case there is any more damage to sort out by then.

Don't think it didn't cross my mind.

Dave, perhaps when you are ready.... And we have stopped all this running around here. We could bring the airbrush up for a visit?

Hi Dave - great to see that things are moving on a bit with the car - you must be on the mend old son!

Vinyl top looks great - the paint damage is sure to be fixable by a specialist. Watch who you choose though. I know several people who have used the likes of "chips away" and as its a franchised company, it very much depends on who does the work.
One thing you know - at least that bubbling paint doesn't hide a hideous bodge repair and rust....
I don't have that confidence in my own motor
Take care mate
