Fantastic work Dave, shame about that mishap with the paint....I can hear you cursing now. You've made some great progress and I can't wait to see the car finished....keep it up :thumbright:

Maybe. They are longer than the As and Es.

Well I take my hat off to anyone that can put a headliner in without making an arse of it.

I have given up! It has got to the point where I have spent enough time and effort. I have done my best and thats all I can do. It will have to stay as it is. :x

Unless I have another go from the start again at some point.

I wish I had put some sound deadener in there first as well. The roof sounds like the lid of a biscuit tin. :?

It is full of creases and wrinkles. The sail panels in particular are terrible.

But I have other priorities. Like getting the car running. The fancy bits can be sorted at a later date.

There was plenty of steam comming off me while I was fitting the bugger.

I will give it a go with something once I have a complete interior.

Dave, I know how tough it is to get a headlining perfect, so unless you've managed to get Alex out of retirement, to do it for you, this may make you feel better.

I had exactly the same creases in the sail panels and try as I might I couldn't get rid of them...in the end, I thought shall I get this thing to the Nats or start again...I went to the Nats with the wrinkles and I got over it! :thumbright:

Took the dash to bits this afternoon.

What a mess. Made worse by being full of fire extinguisher dry powder.

Got to start somewhere so decided to clean up the dash frame first.

I vacuumed it. Then wire brushed the rusty bits. Then sprayed it with rust converter.

Tomorrow It should be ready for paint.
