Re: Blue's Barracuda
Bit of final fettling and this side is ready to weld, 'bout 4 hours work over 2 days to get to this point. Other side is still on back order with the lower rear quarters so that will have to wait a bit to complete the rust repairs.

Re: Blue's Barracuda
Thought you might be interested to see how I do the late model master cyl. conversion. A change of master cyl. is necessary as I'm fitting disc brakes soon and I prefer the later 2 bolt plastic and aluminium unit, this ones from Strange. You'd normally use a thick chunk of ally as an adaptor which means you either have to extend the pushrod or use one of those pricy adjustable ones. I just use a thin ally adaptor and drill right through to the pedal box and tack in a couple of mounting bolts, job done, neat tidy and cheap. Bit like myself....

Re: Blue's Barracuda
Drivers side front floorpan still on back order which is pain and will be holding me up before long, really wanted to be starting reassembly before Christmas. Converting the steering column to floor change style at the moment, some update pics soon hopefully!

Re: Blue's Barracuda
Disc brake conversion. I have a set up from a '74 'Cuda which is the same as the much harder to find late A body. This is a bolt in conversion if you have the right parts, late big ball joint A body upper A arms are needed and these are getting hard to find and silly expensive. For much the same money you can get tubular A arms with an extra 4 degrees caster built in from QA1 so I went with those. As with most bolt in aftermarket parts they don't fit, hitting the chassis as you can see, bit of a trim and its all good. No mention of this in the instructions so if you're using them have a good look before it causes damage, would be an MOT failure too.

Good choice Blue, shame about the fit, but, I know you're the man to sort it out.
Re: Blue's Barracuda
You come to expect it Chris, easy fix just slice out that bit I've marked and it's done.

Re: Blue's Barracuda
You would think that a so called quality firm like QA1 would be able to use the measurements from the originals, so you wouldn’t have to do that.
Do these arms accept the original screw in ball joints blue?

Re: Blue's Barracuda
Yes they do. The Magnum Farce ones I used on the Valiant were worse, needed trimming and I had to move the bumpstop position to line up with the new arms.

I fitted them to the Challenger - dropped straight in - no areas of contact: Mopar quality Control?

The mounting points on an E Body are a different design, clearly more room.

I'm surprised you did not paint the Calipers Gold in your new "Bling" phase....
