Arrived back home on Monday after another full on week of cutting and welding. We now have a solid shell from the doors back having replaced a chassis rail, trunk floor drop off's (there was none), trunk floor on both sides, partial o/s tub, back panel corners and a couple of other patches.

Got the engine stripped apart from the cam bearings and distributor drive bushing.
Removed all the oil gallery plugs and core plugs which exposed a ton of silt and past core plugs that hadn't been removed, just punched inside.
It has adjustable rockers, solid lifters and on checking the casting numbers the inlet manifold from the 318.
I've checked dimensions and I am happy the cylinder bores are okay a light hone and new ring's should do. The crankshaft although not showing any heavy scoring appears to be 7thou undersize, this I'm going to take to an old work colleague who has his own Engine Machining business for his opinion.

I do intend replacing this engine in the future but for now it'll be refurbed and refitted so we can get it back on the road. Then the search will be on for a 318 or 360 whichever turns up first... maybe a stroker build

Not been up to much lately except degreasing the engine, deburring the casting flash and port matching the cylinder heads to the gasket. Just a final degrease to do then repaint the block and heads.
Todays job was to make new Spring Saddles as the originals were quite scaley. I'm removing the Iso bushes that clamp around the spring hence the smaller location hole.

Next trip north is in a couple of weeks
