Well it just ain't happening. I've got all the parts either here or on the way (thanks Dave), but the welding is just too much. Sidewaysjas had a look and thinks it'll be opening a can of worms to get it sorted. I haven't got an open cheque book at the moment, so I'm not going to make the Nats in it. My only hope is to get it mechanically sound, save some pennies, get the welding done later, and try and make a few shows/runs before the end of the season. Disappointing, but what the hey. The road to the grave is strewn with cow pats from the Devil's own satanic herd.

Work in progress. Welding being done. Track rod ends done (thanks Dave :thumbright: ). Parking brake working. Indicators sorted. Currently trying to sort passenger seat catch, reg plate light, and indicator tell tale. Got new pitman arm, just need to fit it. Bets on whether I make the Nats?

Take it back to the person that sold it to you, show him the mess the car is in and he may have a guilty concience and help you out. If not..... :violent3:

I've got Sidewaysjas on the case. He's got his own restoration business, and he owns a '69. He knows what he's talking about. Just Bananarama! me off to be spending so much cash just to patch it up, when all I want to be doing is buying parts for a full restoration. I'm spending about £1500 just to get it roadworthy, when that is what it was supposed to be when I bought it. Chicken wire and filler doesn't make a good sub frame.

Sorry, but a proper inspection at purchase time would have found most of that before money changed hands.
