All piggy banks are currently empty (hence the big pile of parts in 'for sale' and the even bigger oil of tat on fleabay!) So no more big fun for me for a while

Have fun y'all :thumbright:

cracking weekend

Saturday was a bit wet....but that's what pubs are for.

Friday was good, track was not too busy, wide range of vehicles and speeds

ran a good couple of times against a 318 barracuda and was quite pleased to beat him.

got a new PB 14.7 at 97.8MPH finally beat the magazine write ups for the E49 charger on its release in 1972

now need to do a 13.9 to prove for once that I can drive it properly and beat the modern "standard" for an unmodified car.

think my leisurely driving style is holding me back.

I started the week with a rolling road session at Sanspeed in Bexley heath
I'd been tuning based on the A/F meter,
needless to say Peter Sansom found me a VW van and a half more BHP just short of 81bhp that'i'd lost due to my fixation with the lambda output and the really rubbish filters I had on (taking them off was worth 25)....

still got big lean flat spot at 2000 rpm so that needs sorting minor idle jet tweaking necessary and easier to do on the street.

rear main Is leaking AGAIN

This year i'll match port the manifold properly and put on my mega jolt ignition

see if I can wring another little bit out revs to 6500. but we only did that once, the clouds of brown crap out of the previously oiled up exhaust was quite spectacular

Yeehaaa

Well done Dave, that's good to read. Sadly, I cant make Fridays off work and Saturdays rain made it more effort than I was prepared to put in. Good luck with the 13s :thumbright:

I was planning on Sat at this and Sun at Santa Pod. Sat was a washout and we couldnt get within 3 miles of the Pod due to the queues on Sunday. We had a mini roadtrip over to Shaky and had a great afternoon in the Sun. Not much racing but a great turnout of very cool cars, trucks and bikes. Nice to catch up with Dave81, Mick, Jim, Chris and Rose (very briefly).

Great little write up there Dave...sounds like a very productive weekend for you and the car.

Ali, how was the JD? :D :D :D

2 seconds faster than the nats

can't complain about that

really quite pleased.

I forgot to mention gormless burgers, cardboard chips, Nice braziers, full English with Mush, hat stealing, dave's finger, Micks de-mister, tiny dogs, loosing my voice from shouting JIM at the band, mid 90s rave at 3 am in the bar and a lady with unfeasibly large chest.

all of which added greatly to the weekend....

its Tuesday and I still have the remnants of a hangover and sciatica from missing my bed with the lower end of my body and sleeping on the floor of my tent on Saturday night

think that adds up to a great weekend with great company.
oooh we had a giggle.
