That's a full on attack! What's the cam spec on the Hughes item. Be interested to see how it performs. Any new converter in that pack of goodies?

Hi, this from the website

Whiplash Flat tappet hydraulic small block "LA" camshaft.

WARNING: Our Whiplash cam is designed for low, basically stock compression engines. This cam will run on pump gas in a 318 with 8.4:1 or less compression and iron heads. If your compression is higher than this you may need to use a higher octane race fuel. Your vacuum should be in the 9"-11" range using this cam.
(Figures calculated using stock stroke & compression at 750' altitude.)

Basic guidelines (These are not absolutes, just guidelines to help you get close on a cam choice)
Use: Street and some strip
Idle: Like it wants to bite your head off! Very aggressive
Vacuum: Low
Converter: Stock or a mild stall
Rear gear: Stock or up to 3.55
Benefits: Tons of low end torque and a super aggressive idle that scares Mustangs, Camaros and rice burners from even thinking about messing with you

So I finally managed to get the axle in today, very heavy and loads of swearing involved!

Having a bit of trouble with the shocks as the angle seems to be off where they connect to the leaf spring shackles, may have to drop the springs at the back tomorrow and lower the whole axle down, hopefully that will line them up enough to pop them on.

Anyway, really happy with how it all looks, now for the fun of measuring wheels!

So been busy this weekend, luckily every now and then I get to exploit the perks of being the service manager and get to bring the car into the workshop and make use of the lovely facilities!

Engine out, bay painted, new camshaft fitted, engine painted, new RMS alterkation kit being fitted, Willwood brakes to do and a few things to finish off but getting very close to getting her back on the road!

Pete, when we started to put it together I could just see the quality, the welds are perfect, everything fitted together as it should was really impressed with it. It was a massive investment one that i deliberated on for a while and years of saving the hard earned money, but as soon as I started to fit it to the car I realised it was a good choice.

Did you opt for the Mustang-based Wilwood brakes option?
