Bit more progress last couple of days
Before cutting the car up, made an additional jig for later use, to locate the rear frame rails.

Then able to cut out large pieces . Won't need this bit anymore !

Once that was out , the front sections of the rails could be carefully picked off the rear floor etc

New pieces initial mockup/placement. After a bit of clamping and squeezing it looks like the fit of the new AMD parts will be very good indeed.

Sadly not Pete !
Although on the plus side I've bought the car into Work, where it's warm and I can also get some help with it !
I'm booked in to take the shell to the blasters next Wednesday, so I'm on a bit of a schedule to get some inital repairs done beforehand.
Before the shell gets blasted I also want to remove the front floorpan, and remove the upper cowl panel - there's areas under the cowl that will need blasting/repair.

Got the cowl panel under the windscreen removed. Raided the scrap metal pile and built a Rotisserie over the weekend .

Borrowed Bartek and Darek from work yesterday to scrape off the underseal with the aid of a heat gun and blowtorch

Dropped the car off at the blasters near Gatwick this morning. I didn't get time in the end to remove the front floorpan but no big deal. The blaster does mostly classic cars and is building a race car himself.

Some areas already blasted and primed by this evening.

The AMD floorpan is due to arrive on Monday, so intend to get that and the torsion bar crossmember fitted next week, a few other patches, then it's off to have the roll cage installed.

Yes I'm on a bit of a mission with this one. I want it ready for the Spring.
I've got pretty much all the parts here ready to go on - it's the bodywork that's going to take the time.
Flaring the rear arches is going to be interesting.
