Well I had a really good day actually.
I decided to take off my holley750 and fit the avenger770 carb that I got from mr.moopar (which is going on the daytona engine). Basically I wanted to see if my horrible smelling stinky problem followed the carb or the timing. Usual fun and games of everything being a slightly different size and leaking unions blah blah - anyway, got it all on. Filled the bowls. Fired her up.
OMG what a difference. The car (which barely ran at all when cold) fired and ran to a smooth idle IMMEDIATELY. She was running high if anything so turned it down a bit. SO smooth, responsive - amazing. So that carb has been rubbish for a longgggg time it turns out. Will use car now for next few weeks until time allows for engine swap. VERY happy.
So happy she got her springtime wash too! tada ! Love my car again 8-)

Thats interesting ref brake lines. I didnt do my flexis until I did the wilwood kit - I assume that you replaced the old rubber ones with braided or similar ? Good that you feel a difference.

Glad you got the motor sorted. Interesting comments about the Holley I had a new 750 on my new Stroker engine and the bloody carb was always letting me down. I run Elderbrock carbs on my Chevy truck....runs great....Think the Holleys are over rated.

Yep, lines and new pipes. Old ones were corroded. Still drums all around and no servo, could probably do with front discs some day.

Im still not back working on the one piece front, as I need to get the car down on the ground & axle is away at present. It doesn’t really hold me up too much, as there’s always plenty to do.

I wanted to remount the dry sump tank to give better room for mounting Oil Pump & alternator, plus now has better drain access.

As usual Tank was temporarily supported & mocked in place using what ever was available & easy to use. Some copper pipe & cardboard did the job :)

Aluminium Spacers ended up being modified

Made a speaker shelf repair panel for my 68 Charger this morning. Still needs some adjustment and need to make the end pieces.

Also recently replaced the rear frame rail halves and repaired the inner wheel housings although they still need a bit more work.

Had a run out the The Goat, at Hertford Heath yesterday morning. With the forecast as it was - showers from lunchtime - it was a bit of 'shall we, shan't we?' but I'm glad we did as we bumped into Dave Hills, who was there in his gorgeous 68 383 Satellite. Not a member here, i don't think, but some others here know him, possibly from being nephew to Nobby Hills.
Also of interest there was this 74 AMC Hornet, like the one Roger Moore jumped in 'The Man With The Golden Gun'... 8-)

That Hornet is super sweet, even has the Appliance mags on it, when old Roger bust that out of the AMC showroom there was a Appliance display rack nr the car if I remember correctly, I also liked the big Matador that Scaramanger drove, cool old cars its great the Hornet got a tribute,,
