So the Turds now in colour,
Actually looks pretty sharp,

Looks fantastic in colour.
It might be an illusion, but it looks like there isn't a lot of metal holding the A pillar to the front of the car. Then again it's probably similar on a lot of cars.

F Body’s are completely doubled roof design,
The front up rights don’t have a big section but there’s a lot of metal in them, most of which is 2mm U section
And there’s a full front and rear bridge, all round the glass

How one would survive a hard roll heaven knows
I certainly don’t want to find out !

The turds home now and all in colour thank goodness!
Been a slog but the worst is behind me now and I’ll start the enjoyable process soon, but having a couple of weeks off before I get going again!

Need to get my motor rebuild underway,
Absolutely zero chance of new main bearings so I’ll have to go the new crankshaft route!

I’m still gathering parts together, fortunately this is almost complete now,
I’m seriously considering importing a short block motor from Butler and keeping my original WS block built up and crated
But this rather depends on whether I stay working,
I’m well passed retirement age now and my place of employment has changed significantly for the worse over the last couple of years,
Genuinely think it’s time to call it a day,
Financially it will make finishing the car more difficult but obviously give me loads more time to get on with it!
So definitely catch twenty two!

For what my opinion is worth, retire as soon as you can and just use your original motor and enjoy. Life is very short. I'm lucky (well I paid for it but still consider myself fortunate) as I retired earlier than most and don't regret a moment of it. The World has changed, work has changed and the days of happy banter and P taking getting you through the daily grind are long gone.

My old man, bless his soul, always told me that 'graveyards are full of indispensable men' (I must qualify this by updating this to recognise that this shouldn't be a gender specific term, another reason why I'm retired and out of it ).

This is a truly stunning project and your car will be World class when finished. Enjoy every minute we are allowed to enjoy them, you deserve it after all the years of work you have put in

Agreed, get out as soon as you can! The drop in money was a worry to me too but you manage and you won’t regret it. Making great progress!

agreed, retire asap. mine was forced on me by my back but i'm more relaxed now than i've been for years. life's too short, do what you 'want' not what you think you 'should'.

Having finally finished the Turds Body and paint restoration I’m just about to start the refit process,

Refinished the Bonnet this morning , this was the last part of the jigsaw!
