Well I pick my rocker covers up from the powder coater today and the turned out great. I can't wait to fit them to the engine.
They are finished in light textured black to give a retro look.
They are very light and will look great on the engine. They have neoprene gaskets so can be removed often and the dome head nuts are stainless steel so the will stay nice.

I spent most of yesterday fitting seat belt in the rear of my charger so I can take the family out with me. I used the existing seat belt points and as luck would have it there is already a hole cut in the speaker panel from the factory which is the perfect size. I bolted the inertia part to the seat belt mount and thread the belt through the hole in the speaker panel and in order that the belt didn't chafe on the metal I mounted the seat belt loop under the speaker panel centered on the hole. I then tried the seat and all fitted and work so all I had to do now was make it look tidy where it came out of the speaker shelf and over the seat so I fabricate an ali cap which I will have powder coated texture black to finish thing off.
I have also fitted inertia belts in the front as well and the work well and and are very simple to fit. i fitted them to them through the door card as I didn't want the mounted on the floor obstructing the way you get in the back seat.

Haven't done alot on the car recently but after November Krispy Cremes meet I decided it was time to take the engine out and get it ready to put my new engine and gearbox in.
I went into work early each morning that morning to get the engine bay stripped so come Saturday Derek would help me remove the engine. I was only going to take the engine out but I then decided to tidy the whole engine bay and all of it's components. Saturday came and the whole car was stripped and I pricked Derek up and we went to the car and with in half and hour we had the engine out. I only have a Focus estate so we loaded the engine and engine hoist in to the back to take it to my garage at home. Over the last three weeks I have stripped the bits off the old engine to finish the new engine and I have also been busy stripping all the other bits in the engine bay to bare metal so that I can get them all powder coated in the new year. I have also bagged up each and every nut, bolt and washer on the engine and in the engine bay so that I can replace them all with stainless steel, when i'm all done I want ever bolt on the car to be stainless.

As in a previous post i was looking for a 1970 b-body k-frame as i wanted to fit the 1970 anti roll bar to my charger and as i didn't want to pay what they cost i decided to modify my 68 k-frame with John's help. I popped round John's work last week and with the use of his oxy acetylene he heated up the area and I then put two big dents in the k-frame in the correct location to allow the anti roll bar to fit thought the k-frame. I only took 30mins to do and turned out well.
I will also get the k-frame re-powder coated at the same.
