Blue wrote:Been doing lots of fiddly time consuming stuff lately. Made a new pedal to Z bar rod from moly tube & 3/8" rod ends, a nicer, stronger and smoother working piece that weighs about the same. Z bar and fork rod still to do. Stripped, modified and lightened the pedal box. Clutch pedal now has an adjustable stop at the floor. The monster over centre spring is gone to be replaced with something much lighter as I will most likely be using a diaphragm clutch.
That's a really nice job!
I was thinking of doing this with my rod. What size ends did you use? Did you replace the existing pegs with a stud or just drill it for a bolt?

3/8" rod ends, I knock the studs out and nut & bolt it.

It's a long story Blue which I won't clog up your thread with.....health problems, hands, back etc :( But am going to try and get back on here more often, at least, and particularly see how your car is going!! (obviously very well :thumbright: :thumbright: )

Bit of work on the Z bar, not keen on the way the arms are fitted to the tube, so I made up a couple of widgets to brace them up and give a full 360 degree weld. Just need a bit more grinding for a nice tight fit.

Educate me please Blue, what's a Z Bar ?

Part of the clutch linkage Mark. The tube runs across the car from the inner wing to the bell housing with a pivot at each end so it can rotate. One arm has a rod connected to the throw out arm, the other has a rod to the pedal. Here Endeth the lesson ;)
