Simon. The majority of shelf stacking monkeys know about these T-Hunts so they are snapped up before they hit the pegs. Once in Toy's R Us an assistant saw me perusing the Hot Wheels and said there was an unopend box out back if I wanted to open it and have a look

How exciting! He brought it out but it had already been opened. At the time the cars came in a box of 72 and if you were lucky there would be 1 TH in a box. I counted how many cars were in the box. Guess what! 71 cars, no TH!
The other year there was an unopened box of cars from 1969 discovered in the States. The decision was not to open it! Instead they x rayed it to ascertain the contents, but obviously no one knows what SpectraFlame excitement is in there!!

Back in the days when I was first aware of THs and couldn't find them there was a little diecast shop next to Heaven Gay Club in Charing Cross. He had the occasional TH for £7-8, this was back in about '99. He bought them off a bloke who worked in the toy department in Harrods.......

And you would have thought for £3.5k he'd include postal insurance for such an item of value, but no that's extra!
