Well Dave with my brain problems, headaches, and now blood pressure problems, I was fighting a loosing battle.
I am going to have to rest up for a couple of days so I can enjoy the weekend to the full. I think I will travel down Friday rather than Thursday night so I can just chill out and take my time.
I think I will have the car MOTed by the end of next week though for sure.

Thats a shame Dave. But, mate! That is some truly awesome work you are doing there! That car is looking fantastic! Have a great weekend mate, just chill out! When you see Joe, smack him round the head, and tell him to stop smoking!

No good injuring yourself permanently, you've done really well so far by the looks of things. Have that rest, come to the nats and enjoy the weekend. You never know ,someone might lend you a car for a couple of runs.

I have obviously upset the car. It wet its bed last night.
About a pint of trans fluid on the garage floor. Looks like a slight leak from the neutral safety switch.

Dave did you get the dash dual voice speaker?? I did not in the end cos I didn't think the magnet would fit without cutting the dash frame...what did you find?

I found the magnet would not fit without cutting the dash frame.
I wonder how you would know that in advance without trying it first?
It just meant opening up the existing hole a little. No big deal. I didn't even bother trying to make a neat looking round hole. I just cut it more or less square. It is completely out of sight and once I have packed some sound insulation material behind it it will be impossible to see without removing the speaker.
I also had to cut down the thick, raised cardboard edge around the top edge of the speaker cone. This was even easier to do. Then a quick dash of black paint on the new edge surface so it cannot be seen through the grille and jobs a goodun.
Probably took a half hour from start to finish.
I gave the system a quick check and it sounds quite good in conjunction to the rear pair. I will expect it will sound even better with the glass in and the rest of the interior. I was going to try it out and give a opinion on the speaker once I have the car finished and I have given it a good blast with some Black Sabbath.

It is this strange power of visualisation I have Dave..spooky
Actually after trying (and failing) to find anyone who knew for sure, I waited until I reassembled my dash a few weeks ago, then I could see how close the frame is to the dashpad. I dropped in a cruddy old round speaker with what I thought were similar dimensions (depth and magnet size) based on some web info I found and concluded I probably wouldn't risk it. Especially since I had the frame powder coated, and it was all reassembled etc, didn't really want to cut it.......before this rebuild I wouldn't have given it a second thought mind
Ah well, I guess I need a plan B, when that gets to the top of my list I will be a happy man!!
Thanks for the info anyway Dave

You are probably better off than me on this one!

I've sat and read through this thread on and off for the last few days. The work and research you have put into this car, and your attention to details is unbelievable. Its so nice to see it being built exactly to your specs, and not a text book, factory perfect restoration. Cant wait to see it.

Thanks Dan.
I am struggling to "get back into it" since the Nats but made some progress this weekend.
