Blue wrote:Pedal stop needs to be under the pedal pad Anton, otherwise you are putting strain on the rest of the linkage. Stopping it right at the bottom of the pedal means the only resistance the linkage sees is the return springs on the carb, so I dosn't matter how hard you stand on it, it can't move any further.
Weld a nut to the under side of the floor then use a bolt to have an adjustable pedal stop under the pedal pad.

Well I don't know what you guys know, I'm just assuming that a good built 408? stroker with Blue picking the parts will make around 450hp?...which, again at a guess of total weight of around 2700lbs is around mid 10's

The 408 has a .484 hydraulic cam and ported iron heads. It will be getting a healthier flat tappet cam and ported ally heads before it goes in. That's still a way off yet, still got a bunch of other stuff to do first.

2700 at the line is a fairly tall order Les

Yes perhaps it is Mick even with those million holes!!.... at 2800 it should still be in the 10's at around 10.7ish. A good solid cam with good lift and a sensible duration will be the key to it all, a 750 perhaps for the street and a 950 or similar for track action, I'm sure Blue has it all sussed.
Those wallace figures are for a well optimised car more than likely with an auto and a good suspension set up, unfortunately not that many cars are.
This is not meant as a slight to John's abilities but a manual that shifts as quick as an auto with say a 5000 converter is not easy to achieve, most that can have libertys or jerichos with top quality slipper clutches. Speed should be high but et will be down a little. Saying that, i still think with full port alloy heads and a decent cam it's possible to get into the 10's, a mean achievement for a street car.
Nice work John

Had a busy weekend bending and welding chrome moly, many thanks as ever to Gary Layton for his workmanship. 6 point cage is all done now, just need to tie in the front chassis legs to it and I can start putting the car back together ready for next season.
