Got mine yesterday, via Stu, tucked away amongst my Xmas pressies!
Very impressed with the quality of the printing and paper/card used - Steve's cuda pic on the front is awesome!
One query/bone of contention tho..... some of the pics seem to have suffered with the same careless cropping that we sometimes see in Connected... take a look at the pics used for Jan, March and especially Sept. Plus, GJUK's Dart pic for Nov is a lot darker than the original posted on here.
Is it the printers that get to decide how the pics are edited?
Sorry - it may seem petty to some but this kind of thing bugs me, as you can probably tell.

Reiterating Rob’s comment about careless cropping

Good to have more feedback on the calendars. Very helpful when we consider the approach for next year. In relation to cropping and darkness the considerations I have been advised of by the printers are these:
Cropping: image sizes were all different, we could have either filled the A4 page totally for each month (which we did) or have the full width of each image but therefore have some different size top and bottom borders on some months. So if your feedback is you would rather have full width but with borders to make sure the whole of the image gets in please let me know that. So I think careless cropping is harsh....you either go for consistency on each page being full or have some borders, that's the choice as I understand it.
Darkness: I raised this question with previous Connected as one photo on the contents page in particular appeared a lot darker than my original image. Answer provided was that images viewed online or onscreen will appear lighter than a printed image on the paper we use. I sent across the raw images with the best resolution the owners could give me to try to maximise the quality of the image when presented in A4. If you look at the different versions of the sunset photo I posted as soon as I lightened it the sky became blotchy. So I did not lighten any image provided and, as mentioned, viewing on a screen is slightly different to viewing a hard copy.
One final word on resolution. I would have liked to meet people's requests for the two on the back to be full size but the resolution would not work for those photos being A4. So for next year's photos for shortlisting do try to keep the original image no matter what you choose to do with it with your own editing software.
I'm happy to refer back any further views or questions on the above topics or other issues before we start thinking about 2017. All the best. Simon

I did wonder about the 2 pics on the back. Shame they weren't suitable for A4

Understood, consistency on each page being full seems to make most sense to me, maybe we need to make sure that when considering / selecting images next time that there is sufficient space around the subject to allow for this cropping, that’s a suggestion, not a criticism
